Focus and Scope

Metasastra: Jurnal Penelitian Sastra is a scientific journal published by West Java Language Center, published since 2008. The writing that entered into this journal has been through the process of double-blind review. This journal is a literary research journal that publishes various research reports in the field of literary scholarship, literature study, and literature on literature. Published periodically twice a year in June and December.

This journal also serves as a media dissemination of research information and literary studies, including the study of Oral tradition, Philology, Pure literature (including studies of literary theory, literary criticism, literary history, literary genre, transit, and comparative literature), Applied Literature (including studies of literary teaching, literary development, literary policy, literary appreciation, and literary conservation), Interdisciplinary Literature (includes studies of literary relationships with culture, politics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, gender, aesthetics, linguistics, anthropolology, ethnology, and history), and Literature and Political Identity

Peer Review Process

Metasastra reviewing policies are:

  • Every submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two peer-reviewers.
  • Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers.
  • Reviewing process will consider novelty, objectivity, method, scientific impact, conclusion, and references.


Publication Frequency

Metasastra is a Journal published online twice a year in the middle of the year (June) and at the end of the year (December).


Open Access Policy

Metasastra provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...


Article Processing Charges and Submission Charges

Every article submitted to METASASTRA will not have any 'Article Processing Charges' or 'Submission Charges'. This includes peer-reviewing, editing, publishing, maintaining and archiving, and allows immediate access to the full text versions of the articles.


Plagiarism Check

Plagiarism screening will be conducted by METASASTRA Editorial Board using Crossreff Similarity Check  by iThenticate in order to ensure there will be no plagiarism in the article..

Copy Editing and Proofreading

Every article accepted by METASASTRA shall be an object to Grammarly® writing-enhancement program conducted by METASASTRA Editorial Board.


References Management

Every article submitted to METASASTRA shall use reference management application by Mendeley.
